Master Thesis (Electronic, Mechanic, Software)

Mikrodust offers services in industrialization and products for electronic production with a focus on quality assurance and testing. We are at the forefront of development of energy-efficient solutions, IoT applications, Design for test and efficient production test equipment. We are working on projects for many well-known global brands across different industries. We have a self-developed production technology platform including advanced data analysis and web portal as a basis in our future offer of a "full featured" modern electronics production test solution. We have many interesting applications for Master Thesis within Electronic, Mechanic and Software and opportunities for interesting summer workers.

Take the opportunity to learn to know and work with these two interesting companies in an innovative environment.

Smart Instruments

Mikrodust hardware platform contains several patented compact instruments and the goal is to expand these instrument offering to cover most of the needed instrumentation for the customers production fixture designs.

1- Smart Instruments: RF analyser and Measurement

We see a challenge to design a RF analyzer instrument to measure RF performance of the customers product during production test. This master thesis work contains both electronic and embedded software component.

2- Smart Instruments: Boundary Scan

A well-established way of a fast testing of an electronic product is testing components signals by exercising the component pins via JTAG or similar ports. There are instruments, typically very big and bulky probe flying instruments for these types of tests. We believe that one or two talented engineering students can explore and solve this need in Mikrodust compact AtoMik instrument form factor. Probably in FPGA implementation

This master thesis work contains both electronic and embedded software component.

3- Smart Instruments: Digital Multimeter

A straight forward thesis work of designing an in the market existing digital multimeter for measuring very low current consumption in IOT devices of nano Amps, low voltages and low resistances in Mikrodusts compact Atomic form factor.

This master thesis work contains both electronic and embedded software component.

4- Smart Instruments: AtoMik Platform Cellular Communication

Mikrodust Test fixture hardware platform is connected through fixed ethernet port to the Mikrodust portal. In order to solve the VPN difficulties in the EMS internal network we wish to design a compact wireless communication instrument

This master thesis work contains both electronic and embedded software component.

5- Remote Fire extinguisher Monitoring System

Fire extinguishers are widely used, vital and mandatory component of fire safety everywhere. However, inspections are rarely performed. The idea for this thesis study is to explore the most cost-efficient system to monitor:

1. The Extinguisher has not been removed. Sending an alarm when it is pull from it’s mount

2. Ensures the fundamentals are ready when needed, e.g., its pressure is not below safe operating levels.

3. The accessibility is not blocked

4. Frequently send beacon over a suitable wireless protocol to facility manger. E.g. LoRa, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc.

5. Immediately send an alert when fault cases occur.

6. Further options to connect to the fire alarm systems in the facilities

7. Smart Phone application AtoMik portal

An smart phone application for the Mikrodust test fixtures user to remote monitor and control the test fixtures in different locations worldwide.Applicants are studying for the thesis relevant education in product development, electro-mechanical interest, software skills for the relevant part of the work. The thesis are suitable for 2 or 3 technology students.
